Products in the Partner Pavilion – SOLIDWORKS World 2016 #SOLIDWORKS #SWW16

The Partner Pavilion at SOLIDWORKS World 2016 was it usual mixture of big name computer Hardware (HP, Dell, Microsoft, Lenovo, Boxx) manufactures, 3D Printers (3D Systems, Stratasys) and a wide variety of Add In software.

Dasault Systemes SOLIDWORKS had it’s full range of products on display for hands on trials. As per the past few years SOLIDWORKS has a glimpse into “future” developments on show. This year it was the Mobile products team with a prototype version of eDrawings with Virtual Reality display via Google Cardboard. Along with Google Cardboard there was pair Osterhout Smart Glasses used to show the value of Augmented Reality. A pair of Oculus Rift headset was also being used to show the benefits of Virtual Reality to display your future products. I caught Dan Herzberg trialing the products. The Partner Pavilion is also used to highlight a range of products & customers who make use of many of the SOLIDWORKS products in their design and manufacture. A few images of products that I found interesting.

Axial Racing and their wonderful detailed Model Remote Control Vehicles

There was a range of vehicle from various Universities Engineering Teams. This from University of North Texas – Mean Green Racing Formula SAE Team

Advanced Metal Fabrication & Machine had a small camper trailer. Not to my taste in design but it displayed some nice detail and quality products

Zero Motorcycles displayed their production model electric motorcycles

HAAS Automation had a UMC-7550SS not only on display but up and running cutting metal

Japan Space Elevator (on stage General Session – Day 2) displaying their power climbers

SeeMeCNC – has their “Custom” built Part Daddy printing out chairs!

KeyMouse had on display their prototype two handed combined Keyboard & Mouse. Interesting concept but I’m not too sure about it!

Stern Pinball – Game of Thrones Pinball machine

I grow up in the era where every corner store & Milk bar had a Pinball machine (pre video & arcade games era). I love pinball machines and these where the smoothest machines I have ever played! 🙂

RockPaperRobot – Float Table – from their website “The Float table is a matrix of “magnetized” wooden cubes that levitate with respect to one another. The repelling cubes are held in equilibrium by a system of tensile steel cables”
